FIREWIRE CONNECTED HIGH BANDWIDTH DVR
Introducing the HDTV-capable direct-to-disk digital video recorder offering unmatched features, including multi-program watch and record and unparalleled levels of content security.

The AVHD Powered by Shin-Digita's Total Solution - A combination of a high technology chip and state-of-the-art firmware. This provides a custom digital PVR/DVR solution for consumer electronics (CE) and set-top box (STB) original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). It creates a highly functional yet cost effective means to satisfy the consumer's growing desire for direct-to-disk digital recording of their favorite programs. The advanced proprietary architecture allows OEMs to deliver a high performance product while leveraging commodity-priced ATA hard disks.

The AVHD achieves complete control and security on up to four concurrent high speed isochronous data streams, and provides plug-n-play network attached storage (NAS) functionality for AV data via an industry standard 1394/FireWire AV/C interface. The recent landmark agreement between CE manufacturers and cable TV service providers specifies 1394/FireWire connectivity and content security for the most advanced consumer products: digital televisions (DTV) including high definition digital TVs (HDTV). Indigita steps beyond competitive technology providers by offering high data rate direct-to-disk HDTV dual digital stream recording, pushing the envelope of system architecture and enabling unmatched performance excellence in home theater components - all at an industry leading price. Furthermore, no other solution provider approaches the comprehensive multiple levels of security available only in the AVHD. Indigita proactively assumed the mission of crafting an architecture to facilitate the free flow of high value content from media companies, while preserving Fair Usage Rights of the consumer, and protecting commercial interests.

The AVHD is based on a single-chip high security AV content manager and overcomes significant limitations of currently available single or multi-chip silicon solutions for PVR/DVR stand-alone recorders or integrated designs for digital receivers and set-top boxes.

When used in conjunction with a 1394/FireWire enabled set-top box or DTV, the AVHD functions as a multi-vendor interoperable network attached storage device for AV data. Furthermore, the powerful ARM9 processor in the AVHD guarantees flawless high bandwidth data transfer of HDTV signals, and yet creates an economical solution for a wide variety of AV entertainment systems.

THE VISIBLE DIFFERENCE
The AVHD direct-to-digital HDTV DVR includes full trick-play functionality and two tuner support allowing the consumer to record two programs while simultaneously time-shifting, pausing, and watching two reviously recorded programs. OEM manufacturers working with Indigita enjoy significant advantages over other DVR/PVR solution suppliers. Some technology suppliers require co-branding of the hardware, others offer considerably less functionality, and none approach the multi-level security inherent in the AVHD. The Indigita architecture is simply the most advanced, flexible and secure solution. The AVHD encrypts data over a FireWire network as well as on the hard disk so that copyrighted content is securely protected throughout the network and within the box. Unlike DVD, this technology uses dynamic key rotation encryption to secure the copy-protected material - a major concern of the Motion Picture Association of America. The copy protection management uses the DTCP 5C encryption methodology endorsed by several studios including Warner Brothers, Sony Pictures, and Universal Studios.
